How to Make a Rustic Wooden Scrapbook / Binder

I’ve often been asked how I make the wooden binders that I use to hold my wood plans. The trick is in finding the right hinge and then coming up with a design that is useful, will last and is not ugly.

My son offered to shoot a quick video, so here is his first production effort and our video on how to make a wooden binder or scrapbook.

If you try it yourself, please upload you results so we can share them.

Thanks,
Neil

P.S. Here is a quick plan and parts list…

When I went to the site smallboxhardware.com to order the supplies the site would not let me maneuver. I absolutely fell in love with your plan since I have been searching every where for binder notebooks as I am creating life long journal photo albums of my family. The wood idea was more than perfect and love the rustic yet “Elegant” look. Your plan is a bit tiny to read…are the hinge numbers SBH #A322 ??
Thankyou so much for sharing your plan and the how to video is wonderful!
Hope to hear from you soon
    Sincerely, J. Steadman

We have been having issues with Microsoft Explorer for almost a year, but I believe I have it fixed now.

The site should let you see everything now. Thanks,
      Neil

I absolutely love this photo album! I made 2 of them and now… i can not find the photo pages for them. I made mine a 12″H X 15″W so i am needing photo pages for a 3 ring binder that will fit the photo album and i cant find them. I need them to be like a 8 1/2 or 9″ H and 11″ W if possible. Please email me!!!!
